Bio

Born and raised in a town called Horsham, near London, UK, I fostered a passion for languages from a young age, which led me to my undergraduate degree in European Studies and Modern Langauges (French and Spanish) at the University of Bath. After graduating, I worked as a teacher in Albacete, Spain for four years, completing the Master’s-level Delta qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language in the second half of this period at distance with a teacher training institution in Madrid and in-person for the final module in London. I then spent two years teaching at International House Riga, Latvia, where I also developed writing and lesson design skills, starting my personal website and contributing to several international industry publications, and began presenting at several international teaching conferences. I’ve been living and working in Rome since starting at International House Rome Accedemia Britannica as an English teacher and IELTS examiner in late 2018, and completed an MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT at distance from the University of Nottingham in 2019-2021. Alongside teaching and examining in Rome, and running my own teacher training courses such as Psychology 101 for ELT, I’ve also had the great opportunity to train up and work as a tutor on the globally-recognised CELTA course, a foundational certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language, and have been working with university students at Luiss University since early 2021: English for Master’s students in Diritto Penale d’Impresa; specific English for Political Science undergraduates; communication skills for Master’s students in Politics and Governance in Europe and International Relations. These experiences lead me to Università Europea di Roma, where I am honoured to have the chance to work with the excellent students and staff at this prestigious institution.
