Driverless cars and big data

Dott.ssa Veronica Gallo wrote an article on driverless cars and big data, with an analysis on Tesla’s Autopilot capable of identifying objects, interpreting situations, and making decisions based on the detection of things and their classification algorithms. The analysis focuses on the data processing carried out by driverless cars and on the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, which can offer many advantages for economic, scientific and social progress. However, it also contributes to increasing risks for individuals and for society, such as pervasive or mass surveillance, influence on citizens’ behaviour, polarisation and fragmentation in the public sphere.
