Studying a Postgraduate course 

In the Italian Higher Education system there are two types of Postgraduate courses:

• 1st level Postgraduate courses, to which students with a Bachelor’s Degree can apply.
• 2nd level Postgraduate courses, to which only students with a Master’s Degree can apply.

Please note that in the Italian Higher Education system Postgraduate courses are known as “Master“, however, they are not equivalent to a Master’s Degree.

Entry requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree for Postgraduate courses of first level/ Master’s Degree for Postgraduate courses of second level.

• Statement of Verification by the national Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA) through its Diplome portal of your Bachelor’s Degree for Postgraduate courses of first level/ For  Postgraduate courses of 2nd level it is required a validation by CIMEA through its Diplome portal of your Master’s Degree.

Please note that the Declaration of Value by a diplomatic/consular mission or the official translation of the study qualification does not replace the Statement of Verification. CIMEA does not provide information by telephone, by appointment or in any manner other than through its Diplome portal.

• B2 CEFR Italian language certificate. Alternatively, the student can take a B2 CEFR Italian language test delivered online by UER:

A.Y. 2022-2023 Italian language test date: 22nd June 2022 at 11:00 / 7th September 2022 at 11:00

Students with Italian citizenship are exempted from the B2 CEFR Italian language requirement.

• Please consult if there is any additional entry requirement in each course’s specific website.
• Only for non-EU students staying in Italy 90 days or more: study visa obtained through the Universitaly portal. Please visit the following website for further information in this regard. Please mind the visa request deadline ( 30th November 2022 for the AY 2022-23).

Application

These are the steps to enrol in a UER Postgraduate course*:

1.- Sending the following documents to Dott.ssa Francesca Chiriani (francesca.chiriani@unier.it):

• UER Postgraduate course application form.
• Photocopy of valid Passport or ID Card.
• Photocopy of your Bachelor’s Degree for Postgraduate courses of first level/ For  Postgraduate courses of 2nd level it is required a photocopy of your Master’s Degree.

• Statement of Verification by the national Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA) through its Diplome portal of your Bachelor’s Degree for Postgraduate courses of first level. /For  Postgraduate courses of 2nd level it is required a validation by CIMEA through its Diplome portal of your Master’s Degree.

2.– Passing the admission requirements specified in each course’s website (for example, a personal interview).

Only for students who must prove a  B2 CEFR Italian language level but have not provided the certificate: passing a B2 CEFR Italian language test delivered online by UER on the above-mentioned dates.

3.-Only for non-EU students staying in Italy 90 days or more: obtaining a study visa through the Universitaly portal. Please visit the following website for further information in this regard. Please mind the visa request deadline ( 30th November 2022 for the AY 2022-23).

4.- Completing the enrolment and payment guided by the reference person from UER, specified in in each course’ specific webpage.
