NeIR programme (taught in English)

NeIR programme analyse negotiation in International Relations from different point of view, merging and combining skills and knowledge of law, history, economics and psychology.

In international relations when we think of negotiation what comes to mind is diplomacy and treaty negotiation. However, a detailed and comprehensive examination that ranges from diplomatic activities to international dispute resolution, from corporate law to economics and business management, from history of international relations to social psychology, allows to notice that negotiation between international actors is always present.

Employing an interdisciplinary approach, the program examines theoretical insights and builds on practical experience in in the complex issues of managing and resolving inter-group and international conflicts. Observing and analysing different areas, NeIR will train students to conceptualize negotiation as a process in which actors take steps to agree on an outcome, and every actor seeks to make that outcome as good as possible from their own perspective.
